PROCESS
According to the client’s request, the proposed volume consists of housing and garage and develops on a single floor with generous outdoor spaces that are directly related to all interior spaces – private and social.
The building has an L-shape, which allows the entire front of the house to delimit the façade facing the public road. The main openings of the house are oriented towards the rear of the land to the south, ensuring good sunlight and enhancing privacy for the house, both indoors and outdoors.
The proposal is partially oriented to the south, making it necessary to think about solutions related to solar protection. It was decided to retreat the façade directly facing south, which corresponds to the social area of the house, consisting of an open space with living room, dining room and kitchen. The most private area, faces east, also contributing to the thermal comfort of the interior. Both areas communicate directly with the outside, the opening of large spans enhances this relationship, favoring the outside space and its experience.
The sobriety of the main façade, whether due to the contained opening of the spans or the choice of materials for the façade that demarcate the two entrances (pedestrian and car), is contrasted with the lightness conferred on the other façades.
Regarding the access to the house, two entrances were designed, a pedestrian entrance and an car entrance, both with access or connection to the entrance hall of the house.
The final result of the project presents a single-storey house that intuitively separates social spaces from private spaces and contains very appealing outdoor spaces for family and friends to get together.
