The house was fairly centred on the plot, with several outbuildings on the north-west side and a pair of entrances, one for pedestrians and one for vehicles. On the south side, they had a small space where they had placed a demountable pool. On the southwestern side, the vegetation had grown wild.

Despite the restrictions that the implementation of the existing volume implied, keeping the original construction was a priority for us, and as the site had sufficient area, it was possible to benefit from these forgotten green spaces by adding a modern structure perpendicular to the house that controlled the western part of the plot. On the other hand, the slight slope of the terrain was also a challenge to overcome.

The results obtained were surprising. A completely new house, which was restored according to the existing construction and tactfully integrates it into the new outdoor spaces created by the added volume. An imposing entrance that welcomes the owners with confidence and some south facing common spaces, cross ventilation and a new outdoor pool, creating a new central space in the house that the owners can enjoy. Privacy, good sun exposure and contact with nature are aspects that characterise this project and which have met and exceeded our clients’ expectations.
