Building on the existing structures, the proposal envisages the reconstruction of a derelict building into a single-family dwelling, preserving the granite external walls as a nod to the region’s traditional architecture. The project involves reorganising the layout and adding a new volume in exposed concrete, creating a contrast between the granite and the concrete. The ground floor houses the living and service areas, whilst the first floor comprises three en-suite bedrooms, one of which is accessible to people with reduced mobility. Outside, the topography will be adapted to create a leisure area with a swimming pool. The proposal respects the rural character of the surroundings, enhancing the existing structure and reconciling the preservation of the building’s heritage with a contemporary architectural language.
