PROCESS
This is a project where a change was made to the lot plan. A polygon was intended that would meet the programmatic objectives of the clients and that would harmoniously relate to the immediate surroundings, looking for a contemporary architectural design. The polygon seeks to take full advantage of the extension of the land, developing along its length.
In the proposal, a wall was designed in the West and South, partly curved, which serves not only to reinforce the design of the proposal but also to reinforce its integration in the space where it is inserted, marking the distance of 3 meters in relation to the public road in that direction (Rua Domingos da Costa e Silva). This gesture contributes to a harmonious integration with the built surroundings and simultaneously to designing and privatizing some outdoor spaces that communicate with the pool and the adjacent living space.
The upper floor, with a more trapezoidal layout, seeks to follow, with its torsion, a certain parallelism to the axis defined by Rua Domingos da Costa e Silva, while at the same time favoring the opening of this built body in this orientation, creating unobstructed views over the surrounding from the living spaces adjacent to that plan.
In general terms, the intention is to guide, with the implantation of the building and with the definition of the polygons of its two floors, most of the habitable spaces in the sense of a greater use of the sun and consequent thermal and energy benefit, so that from the house to the limit of 3 meters regulated on the East side, fulfills this intention while freeing up a larger area of exterior arrangement on the opposite side, on the West side, conducive to leisure and outdoor living for the inhabitants.
The distribution of the program is divided over two floors, the social and service spaces are on the 1st floor and the rooms and gym on the 2nd floor. The social spaces are directly related and overlook the pool area. On the second floor it is possible to access the outside from the generous terraces. Access to the second floor is via a spiral staircase that is assumed not only as a vertical access, but also as a sculptural piece in the common spaces.
Program: Indoor garage with space for DIY; office with tidy; laundry; entrance hall; sanitary instalation; open space with living room, dining room and kitchen; gyms; two suites with closet; outdoor pool.
