SHARE PROJECT
PROCESS
This project emerged as a very interesting proposal, to create a single storey house that at the same time achieved a visual impact with its volumetry. When it came to the plan, the clients wanted an approach that moved slightly away from today’s trends, providing us with the opportunity to build something different. They were concerned about both the collective and individual privacy, so they wanted a house with a blind main façade and three complete and independent bedrooms for the family.
The target plot was irregular in shape, being quite wide at the entrance area, but then dramatically reducing in this dimension to extend in depth. Moreover, its topography gradually decreased by 1.5m from start to finish. It was project to be made from scratch, with no pre-existing buildings on the property.
Taking into account everything our clients talked to us about, the house appears at first sight to display an implacable serenity, in a game of volumes where the voids and the shadows are displayed on the foreground. Inscrutable from the front, the body of the house expands at the entrance to accommodate both vehicles and people and it directs them inside through its iconic entrance. In terms of privacy, we proposed several ways to access the residence to ensure flexibility of use that would make the plan as practical as possible.
(The clients could arrive and go to their rooms without passing through the social area, take their groceries straight to the pantry, or quickly access the pool from outside). In the private area of the house, all spaces are outside the pool area, benefiting from natural lighting that gives priority to the second half of the day. The volume of the house projects itself towards nature, leaving behind the comfortable plane on which it rested, and detaches itself from the ground to fill its acute form with dynamism.
Program: Covered exterior garage, exterior storage room, hall, open-space with living room, dining room and kitchen; pantry, office, gym, laundry room, service bathroom, three bedrooms with bathroom and cloakroom; and exterior swimming pool.
