PROCESS

The present building proposal aims to construct a detached single-story family home at floor level, with a T3 typology, intended to serve as a permanent residence.

Following the clients desire for a one-story “L” shaped home with a flat roof, which would have minimal visual impact from the street, the proposal was designed to integrate with the surrounding built environment. The east-facing volume of the house was aligned, in its facade plane, with the neighboring building on that side, taking advantage of solar orientation. The arrangement of the spaces was planned to optimize this orientation, creating a generous area to the south for the enjoyment of outdoor leisure spaces.

The building’s placement was also guided by the continuation of the rear alignment, in line with the existing wall. To complement the design, a porch for parking was included, establishing a connection with the nearby neighboring building.

Internally, the layout of the building clearly distinguishes the social areas from the private areas of the house. The goal was to open all the living spaces to the south and west, facing the communal and leisure area towards the street. In this way, the design benefits from views over the surrounding area as well as the thermal and lighting advantages of these orientations, meeting current requirements for thermal comfort and energy regulations.
