SHARE PROJECT
PROCESS
The present project refers to a single-family residential building with three floors above ground and an outbuilding located at the bottom of the lot. The building is located in a predominantly residential area made up of single-family houses ranging from one to three floors in height. In this way, the proposal presents a volumetric set that fits and articulates with the surroundings, both in terms of use and in the choice of materials and their respective chromatic variation, carefully selected and in perfect harmony with the surrounding constructions.
The land on which the house is located, due to its formal characteristics – long and narrow – and the difference in level of approximately 1.50m between the main street and the bottom of the lot, acted as a constraint and simultaneously as a guide for the design options. adopted.
The proposal is therefore developed on three floors with distinct housing functions but which communicate with each other, both through the relationships they establish between the different living experiences and through the emphasis that was sought to privilege, at all these moments, communication between the interior and the exterior, especially through the insertion of natural elements with small patios and green areas.
The first floor, located at the main street level, corresponds to the garage and entrance hall, as well as housing support spaces such as laundry and storage. On the upper floor (2nd floor) is the housing area consisting of the social area and the private area with two bedrooms facing East and the fourth suite facing West, meaning this floor constitutes the main floor of the house. The third floor corresponds to the office supported by outdoor terraces, facing North and South, from where it is possible to enjoy an incredible view of the sea.
In terms of covering materials, we chose white Estremoz marble stone plating for the second floor volume and exposed concrete with wooden plank formwork for the highest volume.
