SHARE PROJECT
PROCESS
This project refers to a rehabilitation carried out in a set of pre-existing buildings where the clients were looking for a design idea that would unify the building complex and rehabilitate the space in general with the clear objective of providing well-being and quality of life, both for the customers and for the animals that would be received.
Within this general idea, three axes of action stand out: the main house, which they wanted to rebuild with a new project and a contemporary architectural style; the animal welfare center where it was intended to create a new building with a housing and care program for animals, with special concern for canine animals; and finally the separation of the remaining buildings that could potentially be used for local accommodation aimed at rural tourism.
The clients were clear that they wanted to demolish some existing structures, as they were constructions chronologically older than the house, and because they did not fit with their interests in the final result.
With regard to the existing house, they also communicated a series of concerns about the space, mainly in relation to thermal comfort conditions and lack of connection to the garden.
As this is a rehabilitation that is divided into clearly distinct phases, it was intuitive to start the project with the main house so that the design of the remaining objects could harmoniously complement this central element. The house is divided into two floors and is a T2 type. The space is provided with a gym and office on the top floor and a living room, dining room and kitchen on the ground floor, which has direct contact with the outdoor green space.
In several follow-up meetings it was decided that the main entrance to the house would be through the garden, marking a clear separation with the other buildings on the property.
Our work focused on maximizing the relationship between the designed spaces and the garden, minimizing the new access route as much as possible; maintain the original identity of the place (especially with regard to the existing stone) while introducing a contemporary minimalist design and guaranteeing new spatial and thermal comfort for those who inhabit the space.
Main house program: Indoor garage; laundry; entrance hall; open space with living room and dining room; closed kitchen; sanitary service installation; a suite with closet and sanitary installation; a bedroom; an office and a gym with respective storage.
